Community Safety and Well-Being Planning

We specialize in co-developing community safety and well-being plans with communities across Canada (urban, rural, Indigenous, and remote). Our approach involves working closely with local partners as well as a thorough community assessment process, including surveys, community engagement, and asset mapping, to ensure each CSWB Plan is tailored to the needs and realities of the community. This includes identifying local priorities, as well as actions to address them, and implementation, monitoring, and evaluation support. This can include creating a plan ‘from scratch’, or reviewing, revising, and/or adapting an existing plan to ensure its continued relevance and impact.

Strategic Planning

We support the development of strategic plans, gun and gang violence prevention strategies, and similar initiatives. This process includes partnering with local leaders, in-depth data collection and analysis, as well as identifying strategic priorities and needs, proposing evidence-informed approaches and solutions, and offering considerations for implementation, governance, and evaluation adapted to local context and realities. This process can also include creating a new strategic plan or updating an existing version.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

Collaborating with communities, we assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for local initiatives, programs, and strategies. This can include guidance and/or hands-on assistance with defining the theory of change, creating logic models, identifying key performance indicators, collecting data for measurement, and sharing evaluation results and insights

Research and Evidence Briefs

Our team conducts literature reviews on specific topics to compile evidence and highlight good/promising practices related to community safety and well-being. This involves reviewing scientific and grey literature to present a comprehensive understanding of the topic in an accessible format, ideal for communities looking to inform decision-making processes. These can be supplemented with engagement to explore the topic in the local context.
