Introduction to Community Safety and Well-Being

Description

During the training, participants will delve into the foundations of community safety and well-being. Furthermore, through engaging presentations, including firsthand accounts from practitioners, participants will be presented with tangible examples of CSWB plans. The training will also equip participants to make the case for CSWB planning at the local level through community success stories. Participants will gain insights into the pre-development and preparation phase of CSWB planning, including potential governance structures, creating a project team, communicating with key stakeholders, building an advisory committee, and identifying resources.

Audience

Representatives from communities interested in learning more about the development of community safety and well-being plans, including but not limited to:

Employees of municipalities/townships, regional governments, Indigenous communities, elected officials, as well as local agencies, organizations, and service providers from different sectors participating in the planning process of community safety and well-being plans.
Students interested in working with communities in crime prevention/community safety, municipal governance, social development, and community safety and well-being planning.
