Service
Public Services As a non-profit organization, CCFSC is committed to the principle of providing our resources and learnings freely accessible to the public. We consistently release a variety of documents, tools, and materials centered around community safety and well-being, including topic summaries, practitioner guides, and research reports. Additionally, we facilitate public events, webinars, and other knowledge exchange opportunities within our community of practice.
Member Services In addition to public services, CCFSC also offers member-specific services. This includes exclusive access to our members-only community of practice sessions and online portal. Members can also leverage the power of our network by sending member requests, soliciting insights and documents on specific topics. Member services also include priority access and reduced fees for training sessions and conferences, as well as ongoing support and mentoring from CCFSC staff and fellow members.
Fee-for-Service CCFSC extends additional services to communities and organizations through a fee-for-service model, providing support in diverse strategic planning and research endeavours. Our fee-for-service offerings encompass the following key areas:
  1. Strategic Planning: We specialize in developing comprehensive strategies such as community safety and well-being plans, gun and gang violence prevention strategies, and similar initiatives. Our approach involves thorough research and data collection through statistical analysis, surveys, and community engagement. It can also include data analysis, identifying strategic priorities and needs, proposing evidence-informed approaches and solutions, and providing considerations for implementation, governance, and evaluation adapted to local context and realities.Recent examples of strategic planning projects completed by CCFSC include the Regina Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, the Kelowna Community Safety Plan, and the Nanaimo Youth Resilience Strategy.
  1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: Collaborating with communities, we assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for local initiatives, programs, and strategies. This includes defining the theory of change, creating logic models, identifying performance indicators, collecting data for measurement, and sharing evaluation results and insights.
  2. Personalized Presentations or Trainings: We tailor presentations and training sessions on community safety and well-being to meet specific community needs and requests. These sessions can range from training municipal employees and service providers to delivering presentations to councils, community members, students, and other audiences at conferences or as keynote presentations.
  3. Evidence Briefs: Our team conducts rapid literature reviews on specific topics to compile evidence and highlight good/promising practices related to community safety and well-being. This involves reviewing scientific and grey literature to present a comprehensive understanding of the topic in an accessible brief format, ideal for communities looking to inform decision-making processes.
  4. Other Projects: CCFSC remains adaptable to the unique needs of communities, offering additional research and planning projects as required. Our commitment is to provide customized support that addresses the distinct challenges and needs of each community we work with.
